School History The Presentation Sisters first came to Kilkenny
on the 25th September 1800. On 12th October 1800 the Presentation Sisters started the school with sixty pupils- all girls. When our school started it was situated on James's street, Kilkenny, where Superquinn is situated now. Today, the Primary School, Scoil Mhuire in Parnell Street, has over 450 pupils on its rolls; the Secondary School in Loughboy has over 600. The new school, where we are now, in Loughboy

Nano Nagle Nano
Nagle was born in 1718 in Ballygriffin Co.Cork. She She
founded
her first convent in Ireland
in 1777. She spent all her time with the poor people
and neglected herself.
She got sick and
collapsed in Cross Street. She died on the 26th of april 1784. Her last
words were "Look after the children, the children
of the poor." |
