The team at the Regional Finals

Our team is made up of 5 girls from Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny.

On March 11th, 2010, we took part in the F1 in Schools regional final in Griffith College, Dublin. After winning all four of our races and delivering a well-prepared PowerPoint presentation and portfolio to the judges, we successfully secured a place in the National Final on April 29th. We are currently hard at work preparing for it and look forward to meeting all of the other teams on the day. Best of luck to you all and we'll see you there!

TEAM NAME

We first came together as a group and looked at different areas for name ideas such as animals like cheetahs and snakes and also looking into different language areas like French and Spanish. We were looking for a name that implied speed or swiftness. Also a name that sounded good and that could be woven into a team design. We finally settled on the name 'Allegro', the Italian musical term for fast and lively, as we all have a common interest in music whether it be playing or listening to it. We think it sounds good and we think a team design can be built around it.

TEAM LOGO

Our logo needed to be simple, easy to remember and interconnected with our name and colour scheme. It also must be striking to look at and draw the audience in. We thought it would be best if we created a logo that was musical in some way, but also had relevance to Formula1. More

TEAM COLOURS

Once we decided on a team name and logo we began to develop colour ideas for our team. Our colour choice needed both a striking contrast and a strong connection to the overall team identity. The colours which struck us as most appropriate in regards to our theme as a whole were black and white. These colours were striking in their simplicity and reflected the appearance of an average sheet of music. We planned to carry this simplicity through into all aspects of our project and team identity.
After the Regional Finals we decided to introduce a splace of red to our uniform and overall design. We thought that black and white was very limiting.

The ingredients that go to make up the team brand that is Allegro.

We decided to use the image of a tree to show that a lot of things are interlinked in the making of a team identity. When these ingredients come together properly they grow into the brand.

We also tried out a number of words that we wanted to put together that would make up a motto for our team.
